Why is MD5 not provided?
MD5 is no longer suitable for safe verification, this tool provides priority with the modern SHA-2 abstract algorithm.
Can it be used to save passwords?
It is not recommended to use ordinary SHA to save passwords directly. You should use a slow hash scheme with salt and dedicated passwords.
